Howdy-doody. Nice of you to tune in again to Today’s Postcard from the Open-Air Asylum That Is Hell Amsterdam. This week: the semi-terrorist whinging outfit ‘Geen Podium’ would very much like to cancel Yoeri A.’s De Balie into oblivion. (*whiny voice* ‘We’ve had enough!’ *little fists flailing*) Because on 27 October, De Balie is giving a platform to KIRAC’s art-jokers. And that is forbidden, because KIRAC is RAPE CULTURE!!1! In normal societies, in normal times, people who disagree with platform 1 take to platform 2 themselves to set out their counterarguments. But this is no normal society. Let alone normal times. This is Amsterdam in 2021. Where the city government censors the I AMsterdam letters because I AMsterdam ‘sounds too individualistic’, so you can hardly expect the city government’s subjects to learn to engage in debate or respect each other’s freedom. Amsterdam in 2021 is the city of destruction, censorship, cancellation, bullying things to death and tearing down anything connected with freedom or FUN. Beyond that, as usual, we don’t understand a fucking thing about what all this hysterical whining is about. Apparently KIRAC is suddenly RAPE CULTURE again because they hoisted some Julian A. onto a horse, and somehow it is all the fault of Sid Lukkassen, naked, who ended up not having porn sex with a left-wing little slut after all. Incidentally, we know Yoeri A. a little, and we know for certain that Yoeri A. most DEFINITELY will not allow himself to be cancelled or censored — not him — so that should make for an entertaining KIRAC evening at De Balie on 27 October.
